About us
Serendipity Glass Design is managed and owned by Anne Freeman and was created in 2015.
Since graduating from Plymouth College of Art in 2017 with a BA in Contemporary Crafts and specialising in glass; Anne now has a lease on a workshop unit at Buckland Abbey National Trust.
From the unit, we run a range of workshops, primarily aimed at children, but also catering for adults. Our walk-in workshops can accommodate up to 8 children or mix at a time and usually take 30 to 45 mins. Our workshops are available every time we are open.
We also take bookings for birthday parties, groups, home-schooled children, hen parties and more. For these bookings, we allow a time of 1 hour 30 mins and the unit will remain closed to the public for this period of time. This not only gives your group privacy, but where there are young children present, it also considers the safeguarding aspect. We can host up to 16+ people in total in the unit.
Anne holds an enhanced DBS, Public and Product Liability insurance of £5M.
In addition to our popular workshops, we also make and sell glass items such as pictures, jewellery, vases, bowls and more. We also host 3 visiting glass artists, 1 ceramics artist and a local haberdashery artist. We always aim to ensure that at least 4 of our 5 artists are locally based - besides Anne.
Our opening days and times are:
Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 3.30pm
